Louise Carty Memorial Scholarship
June 9, 1927 – March 4, 2021
Louise Carty was past president and lifetime member of WAC. We posted this statement upon her passing:
“We sadly note the passing of Louise Carty one of our most significant lifetime members. Louise was a devoted member, president, and mentor in our group. As noted in her obituary, Louise was instrumental in the purchase and renovation of the building we now occupy. This has set us apart from similar clubs and allows us to conduct workshops, provide an art gallery, studio for artists, art library, clay room and kilns, and more. Most importantly, Louise was supportive and inspirational to innumerable artists. She will be greatly missed.”
- Effective in 2025, Scholarships of $2000 may be awarded to graduating high school students to pursue their studies in art or an art-related field. The scholarship may also be awarded to a previous recipient in order to continue their art studies.
- Children and grandchildren of WAC members are also eligible for scholarships.

The hard work and volunteerism of WAC members is what makes this scholarship available to a deserving student. Supporting the arts in our community is one of the things that makes our fundraising efforts worthwhile!
