Join fine artist Emily Gordon for an engaging class designed for artists who want to strengthen their ability to both give and receive constructive critique in the realm of fine art. Participants will explore the principles of visual analysis, learning how to evaluate composition, technique, and concept with clarity and sensitivity. Through guided discussions, case studies, and peer-to-peer practice, artists will gain confidence in articulating thoughtful feedback that goes beyond surface-level commentary. By the end of the course, students will be able to: • Apply formal and conceptual frameworks when analyzing works of art • Identify strengths and areas for growth in their own and others’ work • Communicate critiques in a way that fosters growth, collaboration, and artistic exploration • Develop resilience and openness when receiving feedback This class, led by Emily Gordon, provides a supportive environment for artists to refine their critical eye, deepen their understanding of the creative process, and elevate the quality of dialogue within their artistic communities The class is Free for WAC members.

If you are interested in exploring photography, whether it’s through a “real” camera or your smartphone, come join us on the first Monday of the Month from October – May at 4:00 PM. We have speakers, workshops and photo outings throughout the season.

In this lively demo Gina Beck will lead you on a magical journey of creating a beautiful painting. She will show you how to let the magic happen between the brush strokes by not holding too tight to the outcome of the finished painting. FREE for Members

There will be information on color and how each one relates to the other, and how to paint a beautiful, loose, abstract background.
And finally, she will show you how to incorporate a more detailed subject into the foreground.

In this 2 day, 4 hour hands on class profressional photographer Gary Requa will teach you everything you need to know to take your photography from your cellphone to a print media of your choice, i.e. canvas, metal, paper, acrylic or other form of archival that you might want to display your work on your walls, local events, photo albums, magazines, calendars, greeting cards, etc. This class is catered more for Iphone users but Android users are welcome as well. You don’t need an Iphone to attend.

Day 1 will be discussing what type of phone you have and the photo capabilities therein such as what formats are available and how and why to use one or the other. Also will discuss organizing your photos within your camera and storage considerations and how to download them to your laptop or cloud. I will discuss some of the photos I have taken and the workflow I have used.

Day 2 will be more in depth in postprocessing within your cellphone and or your downloaded images to your laptop of choice. I will be demonstrating different software available and how to take the finished product to the next level, i.e. printing, web, etc.

Watch Claire Perkins demonstrate techniques for incorporating beads, junk jewelry, and other unusual materials to create 3D mixed media mosaic pieces. Her amazing work can be seen on the wall display in the WAC Gallery. FREE FOR MEMBERS

Open to members interested in drawing and/or painting in various mediums

Join us for hand-on introduction to the art of bonsai! In this three-hour workshop, you‘ll learn the basics of bonsai history, plant care, and simple techniques for trimming and potting your own tree. With step-by-step guidance in small group setting (limited to 10 participants, you‘ll gain confidence in caring for your bonsai and leave with your very own creation. All materials are provided - just bring your curiosity and creativity! Class will be held in the WAC parking lot under canopies weather permitting.
